Our Bull City YouthBuild (BCYB) program is aimed at helping students aged 16 to 24 earn their high school equivalency through GED preparation while giving hands-on job skills training in a variety of industries.
BCYB offers hope and a second chance to overcome obstacles that many of our participants have faced, including poverty, violence, abuse, drugs, fear, and lack of support. Participants get support from expert staff to help them succeed in the classroom, at the worksite, and in life.
The young people in our BCYB spend 6 or more hours in class Mon-Thurs. Many have little food at home to bring and not enough money to buy lunch/snacks each day. Snack items, lunch supplies and meal or grocery store gift cards would help eliminate hunger - a significant barrier to learning.
